ABOUT KLEINA FELLEMENDE
Kleina Fellemende grew up in Oklahoma, married Ron Fellemende
and served as a pastor’s wife in Oklahoma, Texas and Kentucky
where she began her experience in listening to hurting people and helping
them find answers. She was also a stay-at-home mom until 1987 when
she made the life-changing decision to go to college. Kleina completed
her undergraduate work with a Bachelor of Science degree in Counseling
at the University of North Texas in 1992 and went on to complete a
Masters in Social Work at the University of Kentucky in 1994. At graduation,
she received the Outstanding Student Award for the class of ’94.
She then received her License for Independent Practice (LCSW) in 1997
while working for Stephen Johnson and Associates in Lexington, KY.
In 2001 she opened her own practice in Lexington and then in 2008 moved
back to Texas where she has established an independent practice in
Frisco just
east of the Dallas Tollway.
Kleina is a genuine, compassionate and caring person
who has a calling to help hurting people. She brings years of life
experience as well as formal education to her sessions and is constantly
reading and attending continuing education classes to stay on the cutting
edge of the issues of today. She brings hope and humor to the sessions
while making the most of the time by offering concrete steps to answers
and encouraging the client to move forward. Clients often say they
feel better when they leave a session than they did when they came
even when dealing with painful issues. Kleina believes the Bible is
correct when it states that “without a vision, the people perish” and
so strives to help her clients see beyond the trouble of the present.
Kleina is a member
of the National Association of Social Workers and the American Association
of Christian Counselors. She has recently received the credential
of a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor. She is an active part of the community of Frisco
where she is a member of the North Texas Business Exchange (NTXBX),
the Frisco Chamber of Commerce, the American Business Women’s
Association (ABWA) and Working Women’s Connection sponsored by
Prestonwood Baptist Church. In these business associations she strives
to support Frisco, encourage other business owners and employees and
promote a spiritual atmosphere. She is an active member of Prestonwood
Baptist Church where she is part of a Bible Study Group on Sundays
and teaches a Ladies’ Bible Study on Wednesdays.
Kleina has spoken at conferences, churches, schools
and business networking meetings in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and
Kentucky as well as contributing to a daily radio program in Lexington,
Kentucky.
Kleina has two daughters, two sons-in-law and four grandchildren.
To these delightful grandchildren and teenagers, Kleina is known as “Grannyma”.
She enjoys "dates" with her husband who is her best friend,
family events, reading, cross stitching, growing flowers and experiencing
the light of hope come on in the eyes of her clients.
